On March 31st, and April 1st, 21st, 22nd, 28th and 29th, Cepsa holds its Open Days at the Palos production centers. As every year, visitors will have the chance to learn how a refinery and chemical plant work, the activity that the Company carries out both in the area and in the other countries in which it operates, and the many and unknown applications for oil in our daily lives.
For the directors of the La Rábida Refinery and of the Palos Chemical Plant, José Antonio Agüera and Agustín Bonilla, "the Open Days allow us to show people in our immediate environment the work we do at Cepsa and how we do it. Simultaneously, an interesting dialog with visitors is created at each visit, which helps us find out their worries as citizens and respond to any queries they may have."
The open days, which last approximately three hours, include an introduction to the world of oil and energy, and Cepsa's activity, a visit to the production plans and a walk, guided by environmental monitors, by the Laguna Primera de Palos lagoon, which is an example of biodiversity and conservation promoted and developed by Cepsa, included in the Network of Protected Spaces of the Autonomous Government of Andalusia through the Natural Park.
The attendees at the Open Days will also witness the high safety, environmental protection, energy efficiency, innovation and quality standards that govern all of Cepsa's activities.
For parents attending with children under 8 years old, Cepsa will provide childcare facilities with qualified monitors who will play fun games and activities while the event is ongoing.
At the end of each day, the attendees are given a satisfaction survey to fill out. Each year, Cepsa uses the results to implement an improvement plan for its activity based on the opinion of the people.
This initiative, which has been in place since 1999 and in which over 8,600 people have taken part so far, is in addition to the various institutional, educational, associational and technical visits the Company carries out annually in order to show itself to the outside world and promote closer ties with the community.
Cepsa will run buses for visitors in order to facilitate journeys from the municipalities of Palos, Moguer and Huelva.

Cepsa presence in huelva
Cepsa's 25-year history in the province of Huelva has transcended the industrial level, with it becoming a Company with continuous dialog with society and all of its sectors. The Open Days are an example of that, but so are the initiatives it carries out through Fundación Cepsa, such as the Social Value Awards, the Cuadernos de la Energía and World Wetlands Day school programs, or the training and research by the Cátedra Fundación Cepsa of Huelva University.
