- The members of the Municipal Corporation, led by its mayor, José Ignacio Landaluce, got to know the products manufactured at the Refinery alongside the Company's safety and environmental protection measures
- Cepsa's new control room is equipped with cutting-edge technology, putting it at the forefront of the sector in this area
Today, members of the Algeciras Municipal Corporation visited the Cepsa facilities in San Roque. During the visit, the attendees went on an extensive tour of the complex and had the chance to learn about the industrial processes and the products manufactured at the refinery, as well as the safety and environmental protection measures put in place by the company.
In addition, part of the visit included a stop at the control room, where they were able to see first-hand the innovative control and safety systems at the refinery. This new room puts Cepsa at the forefront of those companies with the best and most advanced technology available in terms of control rooms.
The Mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, was accompanied by his deputies, Pilar Pintor, Juana Cid, Diego González, Eva Pajares, Susana Pérez, Paula Conesa and Francisco Javier Rodríguez; delegates Victoria Zarzuela, Diego de Salas, Segundo Ávila and Laura Ruiz; the Socialist Party councilors Fernando Silva, Francisco Fernández and Ana Jarillo, as well as councilors Elena Abad and María José Jiménez.
José Ignacio Landaluce spoke positively of the event in that it is one of the job-creating centers in the region within the second largest industrial hub in Spain, which must go hand in hand with caring for the environment, as he was able to see with his own eyes the measures that the refinery has implemented in this regard.
The director of the refinery, Miguel Pérez de la Blanca, highlighted how important visits to Cepsa's facilities are to the company, both by the general public, during its Open Days, and by corporations in the municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar. Only through those visits are they able to learn about the facilities in depth and discover the manufacturing processes that are carried out. "These meetings allow us to establish closer dialog with citizens and their political representatives, and let them get to know Cepsa in San Roque and the high security, environmental protection and production parameters within which we work," noted the director of the refinery.
Throughout the year in the region, Cepsa has a calendar of tours that are open to all areas of society: institutions, associative networks, education centers, universities, etc. Specifically, last year almost 3,000 people visited the San Roque facilities.
